Week 4

I have been here a month?? I cant believe it at all! Time is going by so fast. Something that is really crazy is I get my flight plans Friday! Thank you, Mom for letting me know that there aren't any problems with my visa so I will be leaving to go to Argentina on September 7! Gosh, I cant wait. The MTC is great, but I am ready to get out in the field and fulfill my calling!
Where is Buenos Aires, Argentina????
So they kept me as District leader another week. It was only supposed to be 3 weeks, but they didn't let me go until this past Sunday. I'm not gonna lie, I was kinda sad. I grew so much in the process and it was sad stepping down haha. But Elder Jorgensen is the new DL and I love him so much, he will be a tremendous leader. But it is all good! I will serve in whatever way the Lord needs!

So I was in a lesson a few days ago and it was one of the major times that I really felt the Spirit running through me, I didnt have to think about conjugating verbs in different tenses, I just let it out. I got a prompting to bear my testimony of the Doctrine of Christ, and it almost brought me to tears. I am really coming to know the importance of knowing Christ's doctrine. It is the only reason I am who I am today and it will bring so much joy to everyone! Faith in Christ and His atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and Enduring to the End. That is my purpose on my mission, to invite others to come unto Christ and better help them to understand the Atonement. The power of the atonement is real, and that is the only way we can return to live with our Heavenly Father again!

We started speaking only Spanish throughout the day! It has helped so much! Well I dont have much more time today, pictures will come shortly! I love you all!!

Week 3, Whoa! Almost a Month!!

As usual, I dont know where to start..So I'm going to start with the balling session I just had. 3 hours of straight Can't Guard Me in the gym! I caught an alley oop on someone in my district and made another fall, it was great. So these past 2 weeks of no gym was so good for me. No more ankle problems (well except for the members in my district) haha and my back is feeling great!

But on a more serious note, this week was awesome. So I was supposed to be released as district leader because it is only a 3  week assignment but they told me they wanted me in longer, so that made me feel pretty good! Im super happy about that, I love my district and I love serving them. Yeah we have a lot of fun, but let me tell you, we bring the Spirit really strong when its time to work and focus!

Something I read and started thinking about alot! These 2 scripture passages in D&C- 128:22 and D&C 31:1&13

22 Brethren, shall we not go on in so great cause? Go forward and not backward. Couragebrethren; and on, onto the victory! Let your hearts rejoice, and be exceedingly glad. Let the earth break forth into singingLet the dead speak forth anthems of eternal praise to the King Immanuel, who hath ordained, before the world was, that which would enable us to redeem them out of their prisonfor the prisoners shall go free.

1 Elder Yeomanmy son, blessed are you because of your faith in my work

13 Be faithful unto the endand lo, am with you. These words are not of man nor of men, but of me, even Jesus Christ, your Redeemer, by the will of the Father. Amen.

I love these scriptures sooooo much and I read them every day! I can promise with surety that I will never go backwards and I will always press forward with steadfastness and faith in Christ. And when I do this, it is ON, ONTO THE VICTORY!! Jesus Christ says that if we, as missionaries and members of the Church, are faithful and diligent then He will be with us unto the end! I already feel so many blessings from serving my Heavenly Father and there is no where in the world that I would rather be!

So I was walking to lunch the other day and I passed a picture with Moses 1:39 and the prompting came to me- Jesus Christ's whole Work and Glory becomes mine, as His representative. I really thought about that and know that at 6:30 every morning when that alarm clock goes off, I hop out of bed, pray, and do everything I can to make sure I fulfill my call and responsibility. In 2 years, I will look back and say that I did my best, and that The Lord will be pleased with me! Something else I do is carry my  Dad's missionary tag around with me, I will attach a picture of why. But every time I put my tag on and think about the type of missionary my dad was and the type of missionary my Heavenly Father needs me to be, I want to work so hard!

I love you all! THANK YOU to everyone who writes to me and sends me packages, I love it and it is so comforting to know how much support I have behind me!!

Talk to ya'll next week,

MTC Week 2

Hola Familia y Amigos!

Well I don't know where to start but I think I'm going to start with a scripture from our last devotional. 1 Nephi 3:15 "As the Lord liveth, and as we live, I will not go down unto my father (in High Point, NC) until I have accomplished the thing which the Lord has commanded me." Relating that to myself and to my mission is pretty awesome. I love this work and I can promise everyone that nothing could ever stop me from working hard. Every day when I wake up at 6:30 and put that nametag on I can’t even describe how amazing that feeling is. I am a full time servant of the Lord and I am a true representative of Christ. We had an amazing devotional last night by a member of the 70.  The main promptings I received from it: The only way to serve is with full purpose of heart and from the strength of the Lord we can do all things! Don't get me wrong, this is by no means easy..but it is truly the best thing in the world! I wish I could better express how much I have learned and grown here. I feel like any time I get down on my knees to pray, anytime I attend a devotional, anytime I am in class learning from my teachers, I am blessed and there are always answers to my prayers. Something else struck me that Elder Grow of the 70 said yesterday, "Pray to become a converted and consecrated disciple of Christ!" That is what I strive for and pray for every day! That through my faith and diligence, I can become a consecrated disciple of my Savior, Jesus Christ.  So a few days ago  I was talking to my Branch President and he told me that I am an amazing District Leader, and an even better missionary, and that I really don’t even know how much I have inspired and lead my district.  Just something simple like that truly manifests to me the love He has for us, and it was like it came from Heavenly Father.  It was exactly what I needed to hear and made me feel really good! So I have the whole district telling everyone they cant guard us! It’s great haha! I am absolutely terrible at typing so I’m sorry, I run out of time too fast. My companero and I have had some incredible lessons lately, I feel so much more comfortable teaching in Spanish.  The spirit is Incredible!  I will attach a picture of what our investigator wrote about one of our lessons to my teacher. OKay, my teachers are the BEST! Gosh I learn so much from them! The Spirit they bring is so awesome and I am so blessed to have that. This is the last time the vineyard will be pruned, and we are His last workers!

Me encanta Padre Celestial y Jesucristo. Ellos viven y tienen amor mucho para Ustedes!

I love you all!!

Week One

Hey Everyone! I'm not sure how this is going to work in regards to forwarding and stuff but these are the people I have so far.  If anyone else wants to get my email, Mom can you get them on a forwarding list and forward them for me?

Gosh I have no idea where to start, this week has been amazing. I'm sorry if I accidentally say a Spanish word, my Spanglish is pretty funny! haha :).  So the first day was kind of just a get to know whats going on kind of thing, which was good and I am still learning how exactly everything works here, but it takes time! My teachers are soooo cool, Hermano Magallanes y Hermano Weeks! They both are just incredible.  The Spirit is so strong here and I love it! My Spanish isn't great yet but it is coming along. I am so much more comfortable now as I taught my 3rd leccion in espanol.  Our investigadora is actually a teacher, but I can still feel the love and Spirit as my companero and I teach.  So my district is the absolute best! Our branch presidency said that we are the closest district he has ever had, and I feel like I have known them forever! I LOVE THEM SO MUCH!

So Thursday night we had the Branch Presidency come interview all of us and talk to us about expectations and such. That night, they assigned me as District Leader. I am so humbled and blessed to be able to serve, lift, and inspire such an amazing district, my other 9 brothers! There are
10 missionaries in my districto counting me and its just amazing to be able to work with them. My companion is the man! One of the most humble and nicest guys ever, he definitely keeps me in check :).

MTC (CCM) District
I was reading in 1st Nephi because we were challenged to finish the book of mormon while we are in the CCM.  Entonces, when Nephi desires to see the things of his father.  The Lord says he will grant it unto him becasue of his faith and diligence. I related that to learning Spanish. If we just plan, prepare, and go in with the Spirit the Lord will help us speak the language and help our Investigators feel the Spirit as well.

Last night, we had a devotional with Russell M. Nelson! Gosh i cant even begin to describe it. It was muy poder and the Spirit was radiating.  Afterwards, we had a district discussion about it with my Branch President, and they asked me to lead the discussion on the spot.  But I was so thankful I had that opportunity!

Mom, I have gained 10 pounds I think haha..gosh so much chocolate milk! And nobody in the whole CCM can guard me..there is 2700 misioneros and no one can guard me! They don't let me dunk though haha, which is sad.  Also, the gym is closed for 2 weeks so I can't play basketball! So i have to play something called soccer, not too sure about that haha!

Well I love you all and I love this Gospel, this Work, and the opportunity to share it with those in Argentina. If you all press forward in faith, diligence, and obedience the Lord will take care of the Rest! I know this Church is true, I know the Book of Mormon is the word of God, and I just love being a missionary. I can't put the Book of Mormon down, it is my new 24 ;) hahaha!

"Obedience Brings blessings, perfect obedience brings miracles"

I testify that this is true, and I can rely on the Lord for strength through anything!

Have a wonderful week!
