Chau Derqui!!!!

Hello Everyone!
I hope you all have had a great week! So I got transferred this week, which was very unexpected because transfers arent for another week, but now I am working in the offices of the mission! It is a lot different but I am excited for the new opportunity and experience! I am now the secretary to the President. I am pretty excited! It's awesome working closely with the President! My new ward is called the Virreyes ward! It is a brand new ward, less than a year old and we are working on dividing it now! So the sister of my bishop in boulogne is now in my ward and she remembered me so that was cool to talk to her! Boulogne is doing really well, so that was really good to hear!

Leaving wards is always a little sad. All missionaries know that, and I didn't have time to say bye to anyone, but that is just part of the mission!

I haven't really had much time to study but I do have a pretty awesome experience to share! There was a woman, Ana, who we contacted in the street with the Book of Mormon and told us that she has been looking for a church because she feels the need to be baptized but doesnt know where to go. Well that is exactly what we are here for! We were in the right place at the exact time we needed to be there. She has a baptismal date for the 16th of October. That was awesome, I was thinking Wow the whole time haha! But that just goes to show that the Lord will put people in your path that are truly ready to hear the gospel!!

I am very excited about General Conference coming up. That's like Christmas for missionaries honestly! Haha, I love it! We are so blessed to have that guidance in our lives! We have to take advantage of it!

Well, I really don't have much more to say this week, but I will have a lot more next week when I get into the swing of things! I have five days to train in my new position before the old secretary leaves. I am also learning how to drive a stick shift truck around Buenos Aires haha! I just ordered my international license! I love you all and hope you all have an incredible week!

Also, I don't know if we will have p-day again either Friday or Saturday this week because we have transfers the next week and we won't have time for pday..so I guess just keep on the look out haha!! I love you guys!

The church is true!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hola Muchachos!!

Hello everyone!! Hope you all have had a wonderful week! This week was a great one. We are working with a ton of people, and finding lots of people everyday! We are seeing a lot of miracles and are being very blessed! We finally moved pensions!! I don't have much time, so I wanted to share something that caught my attention in my studies this week!

In 2 Nephi 6:13;

 13 Wherefore, they that fight against Zion and the covenant people of the Lord shall lick up the dust of their feet; and the people of the Lord shall not be ashamedFor the people of the Lord are they who wait for him; for they still wait for the coming of the Messiah.

What really caught my attention was at the end..that the people of the Lord are those who wait for Him and then the question came to me..Well, how could we wait for the Lord? And the first thing that came to my mind was the thought process of the term waiting. If we were wating for something, that basically means we are prepared to receive it! So if we are truly waiting for Christ, we are prepared to receive Him. That is why we are on the Earth, and why we have the Gospel as well, so we can prepare ourselves for the second coming of Christ. As we live the Gospel, we have the promise that we will be prepared, and in this way we will be waiting for Him. We must live our daily lives with this preparation in mind, and we will receive a ton of blessings as we do so! There are many people who will laugh, make fun, and ask us why? But we will always know the answer!!

I love this Gospel, and I love my Savior! And that is why I do what I do!

Hope you all have a great week! Please read the Book of Mormon, it is the answer you are looking for!!

Love you all!

Cuenta tus Bendiciones!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello everyone, hope you all had a nice week! I dont know what the weather is like up there but down here I'm pulling out the short sleeves :).

So this past week we had a BUNCH of changes in the mission! We are literally flooding the Earth with the Book of Mormon!!!!!!!! And man has it been such a blessing to me. So we have been challenged and asked to work in a different way than I have been working for a year, which is fine with me because I like change sometimes. So I have been pretty pumped about it! The goal is that we give out 5 Book of Mormons every day with scheduled appointments to return, and talking to pretty much everyone! This is something super different than the normal working through members all day that I am used to but I am still excited about it! It was a great week full of miracles!

We were also challenged to read the whole book of mormon in 12 weeks, and I love Book of Mormon challenges because I love reading the BOM fast. I always learn a ton and it is hard to put down!! But other than that, I wanted to share an experience that we had last week!

So we were working with a less active family and this particular member didn't want to give us a reference and I looked her in the eyes and said "I know you have a name in your head right now and that you need to say." And she was like..but Elder, she is super evangélica and doesn't want anything to do with our church. But for some reason I knew that something would happen. She gave us the name and direction and we went and she didn't want anything haha, but as we were leaving I heard a voice call out "Elders", and that isn't that normal here because there aren't a ton of people who know the church. Long story short, it is a less active member that just moved here a couple months ago and was looking for the church so her 9 year old daughter could be baptized...ohhhhh yeahhhh! And in her street they are all family and a bunch of them have shown interest!! So the moral of the story is you need to give references to the missionaries, you never know why a name would come to your mind!!

In my study of the Book of Mormon, something really called my attention that I wanted to share with you all. In 1 Nephi 2:6-7 :

 And it came to pass that when he had traveled three days in the wilderness, he pitched his tent in valley by the side of river of water.
 And it came to pass that he built an altar of stonesandmade an offering unto the Lord, and gave thanks unto theLord our God.
So this is something that is easy to look over as we are reading the Book of Mormon and something that never called my attention before, but it hit me this time! And I thought I had 1 Nephi memorized haha! We can think for a little bit how hard it would be to leave everything at home behind and start walking in the desert because the Lord has commanded us to do so. And we all can think about all the suffering that we would probably go through, like Lehi and his family- But here we learn a lesson very important! They finished walking, pitched their tent and what is the first thing they did? They built an altar and gave up an offering to the Lord, and thanked Him. In this moment I don't think they were thinking about all the tough time they had, all of the trials and tribulations they faced, but about how merciful the Lord was for saving them from the destruction of Jerusalem.
Why can't we look for our blessings before we look for our trials?? I for one have been blessed so much that even though I still might complain, I really shouldn't. My family is Eternal. I am able to represent my Savior Jesus Christ, and I have all the hope and peace in the world through my Savior. Instead of complaining, we can look first to our blessings!!
I hope you all have a great week!! Thanks for all the love and support..You guys make it a lot easier!

Buen Dia!!!!

Hello Everyone! Sounds like everyone is having fun getting back into the swing of things at school...I wish you all the best with that. And those that are working, I wish you all the best with that as well!!

This week Claudia got baptized and it was an incredible experience! She worked very hard to be able to be baptized and she had tears in her eyes throughout the whole meeting. And anyone that knows me well will laugh at me for this but I sang at her baptism..It wasn't too bad but it wasn't too good either haha! But she is awesome and going to be a huge help to the ward and her family, I have grown to love that family a lot!!

This past week I was thinking about something I could do to better my studies and I realized something that really helped me..that everything in the Gospel revolves around the Atonement of Jesus Christ. It is the base of everything that we believe! And everything else we do is basically to strengthen our testimony of our Savior, like reading the scriptures, praying, and keeping the commandments! So, I have been studying a lot about the Atonement, and how it really is the basis of everything!

I saw an example this week that I loved and would like to share. So with the fall of Adam and Eve, the results were that they were cut off from the presence of Heavenly Father, and subjected to death and sin. Because of this, we are also cut off from the presence of God, but we also have a way back to him. Now, the Atonement of Christ is like a bridge that we have to return back to the presence of Heavenly Father. But the neat thing about it being a bridge is that we still have to walk across it, it isn't a teleport system, which means that we still must do our part. Through living the Gospel daily, and following the teachings of Christ we slowly progress and move across this bridge to Eternal Life. But if we don't do our part, we cannot go across the bridge, we stop walking and the Atonement no longer has effect for us. To be able to have effect, we must keep walking across the bridge, and never stop! Through constant repentance this is possible! And the great thing is, if we are doing our best to get across the bridge, we will have all the help we need from the Grace of the Lord. This is a perfect plan, and the Gospel of Jesus Christ is perfect.

Now, I also came across a scripture in Doctrine and Covenants that I loved and that shows really well Christ´s role and love for us.  D&C 45:3-5 says

 Listen to him who is the advocate with the Father, who is pleading your cause before him—
 Saying: Father, behold the sufferings and death of him who did no sinin whom thou wast well pleased; behold the blood of thy Son which was shed, the blood of him whom thou gavest that thyself might be glorified;
 Wherefore, Father, spare these my brethren that believe on my name, that they may come unto me and have everlasting life.
I love this scripture, it really represents how much Christ loves us, and how he is our advocate..when I think of advocate I think of a lawyer doing everything possible to win his case (there you go dad) and in that same way, Jesus Christ is our advocate for the Father. Christ already suffered all things, paid the price for our sins, and now it is up to us to do our part. As we strive to do our part, Christ will make it known unto Heavenly Father that we are doing as much as we can! That is how judgement will be perfect, because the person who suffered it all and knows exactly what we are going through, ultimately will be our judge. So do your best. Strive to live how you should and I promise that Christ will make up the rest, and that he will be pleading on our behalf! I know that is how it is! And I know that Christ lives and loves us more than we can comprehend. This life is tough, but we must be willing to make the sacrifice and be true disciples of Christ!!
I love you all and hope you all have a great week!
