First Day in the Provo MTC

Hey Mom and Dad!

They gave us 20 minutes to email our parents. Gosh it has been incredible.  First off, my companion is the man.  His name is Elder Ayres and the first thing he asked me was "Elder, Do you like basketball?" And we then became the best of friends.  He is super humble and he is Brazilian.  The Spirit is so strong here and I am loving every minute of it. I'm still not quite sure the schedule of everything and how to get around but I have only been here for like 7 hours haha! But you guys never have to worry about me at all because I am right where I need to be and right where the Lord needs me to be and I am so beyond blessed to have this opportunity to better prepare myself to serve and become stronger than ever.  We really stressed our purpose as missionaries today which is "To invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the Gospel of Jesus Christ." That is amazing and I am so happy to be able to do that, I have learned so much in my short time here already and can't wait to continue to learn and become the most effective missionary I can be through Heavenly Father! I love you guys and I think my p-day is Wednesday so I will talk to you next week!

Adíos Familia y Amigos!

The family and a few friends said goodbye to Elder Yeoman at the Greensboro Aiport today! It was a difficult day for us all.... especially for this Mama! I am very grateful that Richard could travel to Utah with Jace and take him to the MTC in a couple of days. It was definitely easier for me to send him away with Richard by his side, than all by himself.
We all should have known that Jace would plan something for the airport that would help us laugh and ease our tears for a moment. As he was about to walk through security, he turned and asked Richard to help him take off his suit jacket. I couldn't understand why he would want to take off his jacket and have one more thing to keep track of as he made his way through the security line. When he turned around, we all saw that he had taped strips of paper to his back that read #CAN'T GUARD ELDER YEOMAN. That was his slogan all throughout high school. He even had a vinyl sticker printed with the slogan for the back of his car window.  It definitely made us laugh during one of the hardest moments of my life! Elder Yeoman was so ready to go and excited for what lies ahead.  I am so grateful for this son of mine and can't wait to see the great things that he does in the next two years!

Farewell Sunday

It was a great day today! Jace had so much support as he gave his farewell talk at church, had an open house in the evening and was set apart as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Alma 42:31  And now, O my son, ye are called of God to preach the word unto this people. And now, my son, go thy way, declare the word with truth and soberness, that thou mayest bring souls unto repentance, that the great plan of mercy may have claim upon them. And may God grant unto you even according to my words. Amen.
