La Pascua - La Semana Santa

Hello Everyone!!!!!!!!
I hope you all had a wonderful week. I'm not sure about how it is over there in the United States, but here in Argentina we are just about to start celebrating Easter. It's a whole week here in Argentina starting Thursday and it is called the "Holy Week". So I want to focus my thoughts on the importance of Easter and why we celebrate it. First, I hope you all have seen the video that the church came out with called "Hallelujah." Wow, is it amazing! We have been sharing it with a lot of families here and every time I watch it I feel so much of the Savior's love and mercy. If you haven't seen this video, pause the game and go watch it ;)

So, to go along with this topic, I have been studying when Jesus Christ came to visit the Nephites in 3 Nephi. The mercy and love of the Savior caught my attention more than ever before. Everything that he did was for every single one of us personally.

1 Nephi 9

14 Yea, verily say unto you, if ye will acome unto me ye shall have beternal lifeBehold, mine carm of mercy is extended towards you, and whosoever will come, him will receive; and blessed are those who come unto me.

Jesus Christ always gave this invitation, to come unto Him. And this isn´t just for select people. This is an invitation for everyone! Because His arm of mercy is extended towards all those that come unto Him. And all those that come unto Him will have the Eternal Life. To put this more into perspective, and just how merciful and loving He is, we read in chapter 17:

17 And no tongue can speak, neither can there be written by any man, neither can the hearts of men conceive so great and marvelous things as we both saw and heard Jesus speak; and no one can conceive of the joy which filled our souls at the time we heard him pray for us unto the Father.

This was when Christ prayed to the Father in our behalf, and words couldn't even describe the marvelous things that Jesus said, and no one could believe the joy that filled their souls when they heard Him pray for them. In spanish, it says "y nadie puede conceptuar el gozo que llenó nuestras almas cuando lo oímos rogar por nosotros al Padre." The word rogar means beg.."no one could believe the joy that filled our souls when we heard Him beg for us to the Father." That made me think about the relationship between Christ and the Father, and also the fact that He is by the Father every day pleading and begging for me personally...in ways that we couldn't even put into words. And, He does this for everyone personally!

And in Chapter 27, is what really made me think of Easter and the importance.

14 And my Father sent me that might be lifted up upon the crossand after that had been lifted up upon the crossthat might draw all men unto me, that as have been lifted up by men even so should men be lifted up by the Father, to stand before me, to be judged of their works, whether they be good or whether theybe evil—

This explains very clearly why Jesus Christ did what He did for every single one of us. He was lifted up on the cross so that we could one day be lifted up to the Father. This is what we are celebrating during this time of the year.

I think what really changes a missionary on his mission is everyday coming to know more of Christ, coming to better know who Christ was, and the importance of His Atonement! I know that Christ lives, that He knows us perfectly, and that there is nothing more important than to center your life on Him. Through Christ, we literally have a new life.....filled with mercy, love, and hope!

I love you all and hope you all have a great week! It's my hope that we can focus more on our Savior in this Easter Season.

Con Amor,
